Why Acrylic for Guitar Display?

Glass display cases are heavy, fragile, and — for anything larger than a jewelry box — a logistical headache. Acrylic changes the equation entirely.

92% light transmission — clearer than glass, with none of the greenish tint visible in thick glass panels. Your guitar's finish, grain, and hardware are displayed with absolute color fidelity.

10–20x more impact resistant than glass. An acrylic case won't shatter if bumped, knocked, or jostled during a move. For homes with kids, pets, or foot traffic near the display, this isn't optional — it's essential.

Half the weight of glass. Wall-mounted displays become practical. Freestanding floor cases don't require reinforced shelving. Shipping and installation are dramatically simpler.

UV protection. UV-stabilized acrylic blocks the ultraviolet light that fades finishes, yellows lacquer, and degrades vintage instruments over time. Your guitar looks the same in five years as it does today.

A well-made acrylic display case isn't just a box around a guitar. It's museum-grade protection with showroom-grade clarity — and it's built to the exact dimensions of your instrument.

What We Build

Every guitar is different — body shape, headstock profile, overall length, depth with hardware. A standard display case forces compromises. A custom-fabricated acrylic case built to the specific dimensions of your instrument eliminates them.

Freestanding Floor Cases

Plastic-Craft fabricates cases for Stratocasters, Les Pauls, Telecasters, SGs, Flying Vs, acoustics, basses, and everything in between — including oddball body shapes and vintage instruments where standard case dimensions don't exist.

Cases can be designed as full-enclosure boxes with removable lids, wall-mounted shadow-box style displays, or freestanding floor cases with integrated stands. Ventilation holes can be incorporated to prevent moisture buildup in sealed environments.

03

The Fabrication Process

Material selection: Cases are fabricated from cast acrylic — chosen for its superior optical clarity, tighter thickness tolerances, and better resistance to crazing over time compared to extruded grades. UV-stabilized grades are specified for cases that will be exposed to sunlight or strong indoor lighting.

Precision cutting: Panels are CNC-cut to exact dimensions. For cases with curved or contoured elements, thermoforming produces smooth, seamless bends without joints.

Solvent welding: Panels are chemically bonded using Weld-On solvent cements, producing joints that are optically clear and structurally as strong as the panel material. No visible seams, no cloudy glue lines, no silicone.

Polishing: All edges and joints are polished to optical clarity. The finished case should be visually invisible — the guitar is the star, not the enclosure.

Single-Piece & Production

One custom case for a prized Les Paul, or twenty identical cases for a retail guitar shop — same quality, same process, no minimum order.

Who Orders Custom Guitar Cases?

Collectors protecting signed, vintage, or high-value instruments that deserve museum-quality display and preservation.

Musicians who want their instruments visible and accessible at home or in a studio — displayed as art, not hidden in a closet.

Retailers showcasing inventory in a way that invites customers to look while preventing handling damage — wall-mounted or countertop cases that sell themselves.

Restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues displaying themed guitars or music memorabilia as part of their interior design.

Corporate offices and lobbies using a displayed guitar as a conversation piece or branded decor element.

Museums and galleries requiring archival-grade UV protection and dust exclusion for instrument collections.

05

How to Order

The easiest path to a quote is to provide the overall dimensions of the guitar (length, width at widest point, and depth including hardware), the display style you prefer (full enclosure, wall-mount, floor-standing), and any special requirements (UV protection, ventilation, engraved nameplate, LED-ready edge-lit panel).

If you're not sure about dimensions, send us a photo of the guitar with a tape measure or ruler in frame — we'll take it from there.
