UHMW Rod Polyethylene Description
UHMW (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) plastic is a synthetic resin, made when ethylene is polymerized. Tough and lightweight, polyethylene is used in several different applications, including packaging material, food containers, and plastic bags. The material boasts high-impact strength and remains easy to clean.
UHMW is an extremely tough plastic with high abrasion and wear resistance. The versatility of polyethylene has made it a popular plastic for countless industrial applications that require durability, low friction, and chemical resistance. Applications include UHMW wear strips, chain guides, packaging machinery parts, and marine dock fender pads.
These standard-grade UHMW polyethylene rods are wear- and impact-resistant and withstand scuffs, scrapes, and strikes. They provide good electrical insulating properties, moderate mechanical strength and stiffness, and excellent machinability.
